Top Gun Part 1 Brief Review

Top Gun Maverick is the 36-year-old sequel to the first existing Top Gun movie, which was released on June 22 with the interest of many people. In order to understand the second part, you need to know the contents of the first part briefly. First of all, in the movie Top Gun, there is a school called Top Gun where flight elites go. It can be said that he took an elite course just because he graduated from Top Gun. Flight genius Maverick and his best friend Goose joined Top Gun as partners to prove their skills. Meanwhile, Maverick’s best friend Goose sadly died in an accident during the flight, and Maverick, who felt guilty, went to the brink of quitting the flight. However, unable to stop the flight he felt was the only one alive, Maverick returned to the flight and proved his skills successfully, and the first movie ends with an instructor saying, “What do you want to do in the future?”

Top Gun: Maverick plot and content

TOP GUN: Maverick is set in a little bit of time later than the first Top GUN film in 36 years later. Maverick still has a life of flying airplanes in the military and has been decorated several times, but he doesn’t seem to be interested in promotion, and he still feels alive when he’s flying a fighter quickly as an active player. Then he was ordered to operate by his former colleague Iceman and returned to the tower to serve as the teacher of the best combat pilots in the present. One unexpected thing happens to him who was not confident in teaching but decided to do his best. He meets Bradshaw, the son of his late former colleague Goose. Bradshaw, who had blamed Maverick for his father’s death, didn’t listen. Even during the training together, they continue to fight for their pride and break the limit. After many twists and turns, the teamwork of Top Gun trainees strengthens, and Maverick is fired by his boss, who was dissatisfied with Maverick’s teaching method while training every day. Maverick, convinced that the trainees will never succeed in the operation like this, drives a fighter himself and demonstrates whether the operation can actually be successful through simulation. By demonstrating this, Maverick becomes involved in the operation as a pilot, not as an instructor. After many crises, the operation eventually succeeded, but it was difficult to escape from the enemy. Maverick, who was once an instructor, also had a goal of returning to save everyone. Maverick, who confirmed that Bradshaw was about to be shot down at the time, succeeded in saving Bradshaw with his fighter jet, but his fighter jet crashed. Maverick, who escaped and ran away from the enemy, meets an enemy helicopter and is about to die, but then Bradshaw appears in violation of his return order to save Maverick, but even Bradshaw’s fighter jet eventually crashes. Along with Bradshaw, who escaped, Maverick stole an old fighter jet and returned safely, and Maverick met his lover Penny safely, ending the film.

Responses and individual reviews

TOP GUN: Maverick beat Frozen despite COVID-19 worldwide, setting the 11th worldwide box office record. Although it was not in the top 10 of all time, considering that it was Corona, I think it is a movie that can be recorded enough. Tom Cruise personally said it was his first movie worth more than $1 billion.

I was a person who only heard of Top Gun’s reputation, but never watched the first movie. I watched the first one right away because I heard that the second one was coming out, and I enjoyed it so much even though it was a movie 36 years ago. 36 years ago, I remember going to the movie theater in anticipation of the movie that is coming out now. Personally, I was very satisfied with the result. Maybe it hasn’t been long since I watched the first episode, but I think the connection between the first and second episodes was more clear and the story was also very solid. In particular, Maverick’s scene where he showed the trainees whether this was possible was very exciting. I think it was a movie like Danbi among the movie market these days, where hero-oriented movies are prominent. If you haven’t seen it yet, I strongly recommend that you watch it on a big screen with a good sound as possible!
