Movie introduction and plot

The second of the Crime City series, which is not an exaggeration to say that it is Korea’s leading crime action movie, has confirmed the release of theaters in 132 countries around the world even before its release in Korea, showing keen interest. The Crime City series is a movie that is adapted based on actual events so far, sets up a villain role, and Ma Dong-seok handles the villain role, giving a sense of exhilaration. The first was Operation Garibong-dong, and this time the story begins with the background four years later.

In Korea, where crimes continue, a man who is taking hostage at a supermarket appears, but as if it were natural, the story begins with a detective Maseokdo laying down the man with his fist. Then, he left Vietnam after being ordered to catch a suspect who fled to Vietnam. Detective Ma Seok-do, who met the suspect in Vietnam but noticed a strange feeling when he saw him turning himself in so easily, called him to the room of truth and got the real information behind him. Although the information was obtained, Maseokdo Island was unable to operate freely like Korea, but he eventually visited the suspected site of Vietnam with all kinds of excuses, and another unexpected suspect was dead there. The investigation seemed to be blocked, but Maseokdo, who heard about Kang Hae-sang, the real background, secretly moved with the team in Korea and met Kang Hae-sang. After a fierce fight together, Kang Hae-sang fled after hurting the class president who came with Maseokdo. They who acted individually without judicial power are expelled from Vietnam, but they come into Korea as if they liked it. The reason why they came in joyfully was because they heard that Kang Hae-sang was smuggling into Korea. After being chased and chased in Korea, they eventually found their location on the bus, and they let all the passengers on board go outside, fight with their souls, and the movie ends with Detective Ma’s victory.

Responses and individual reviews

Personally, I don’t think there are many movies where I’m not so worried about the main character. While most of the movies are focused on the main character experiencing crises and overcoming them based on the villain, the criminal city has a sense of exhilaration to deal with everything if Thanos meets properly from start to finish. There are cases where the enemy runs away, but the main character never loses, but I think I enjoyed it so much. There are many reasons for this sense of immersion, but I think the three main reasons are sound, a true story, and the cast.

First of all, in the case of sound, it feels bigger and richer than other action movies, giving the audience a more lively and more on-site impact. It may be something you can only feel in the movie theater, but the exhilaration and pleasure of the sound that seems to be filling up are the factors that make the movie more fun. The second reason, the story based on a true story, makes me feel like I’m in a situation where I’m actually arrested, and because I’m making it based on reality, it gives me a deeper sense of immersion than a virtual story. Lastly, no matter how much the story is based on sound and true story, I think the cast must do well to live this feeling. First of all, in the case of the detectives who played good roles, most of the cast remained the same, so I think it made me concentrate better as a series following the first movie. When actors change in the series, the audience is also confused, and some members were excluded, but it was good that no members were replaced. Since the crime city is a crime action movie, I think the weight of the villain is too important than the good role. This is because he has to appeal his own villain’s charisma to the audience by showing the charisma of a monster detective character called Maseokdo. But I think actor Son Seokgu did a great job in that role. As long as the crime city is a series of movies, there should always be an enemy who seems to be stronger, including the body that can fight with Maseokdo, the charisma of the villain, and the charm that makes him fall into even though he is a villain.

Crime City 3

It hasn’t been long since Crime City 2 ended, but filming of Crime City 3 is already in progress. Actor Lee Joonhyuk will play the villain this time. The exact details have not been released yet, but I think it’s already a work that I’m looking forward to. Starting with Crime City, I hope that Korea will have many series like famous overseas works.
