Final standings for the UEFA Champions League group stage

Group A – Naples & Liverpool

At the end of this week, the 2022-23 UEFA Champions League group stage has all been completed. Looking at the final rankings of each group, Napoli and Liverpool ranked first and second with 15 points, respectively, Ajax third with six points, and Rangers fourth with zero points.

Napoli and Liverpool are headed for the tournament, as most people expect. Liverpool won against Napoli in the final round of the group stage match between the two teams, creating a 15-point tie, but Napoli took the lead in the group due to the winner’s victory and the advantage of the difference.

Group B – Porto & Brueghe

Next, in Group B, Portugal ranked first with 12 points, Brueghe second with 11 points, and Leverkusen and AT Madrid third and fourth with 5 points, respectively. What’s shocking is that AT Madrid, which can be seen as the strongest team among the four teams, fell to fourth place in the group.

Group C – Bayern Munich & Inter Milan

In Group C, Bayern Munich ranked first with 18 points, Inter Milan second with 10 points, Barcelona third with 7 points, and Plzen fourth with 0 points.

It was Munich, which showed an overwhelming performance, and Inter Milan and Barca competed for the second place, but the final winner was Inter.

Group D – Tottenham & Frankfurt

In Group D, Tottenham ranked first with 11 points, Frankfurt second with 10 points, Sporting third with 7 points, and Marseille fourth with 6 points.

It was simply a jumble of mayhem. In the last sixth game, the ranking changed as many as six times for each game, so the results were unknown until the end. And the teams that won the long-awaited round of 16 tickets after the game were Tottenham and Frankfurt.

Group E – Chelsea & AC Milan

In Group E, Chelsea finished first with 13 points, AC Milan second with 10 points, Salzburg third with 6 points and Zagreb fourth with 4 points. Chelsea and AC Milan have reached the round of 16 in a friendly manner without any major upset.

Group F – Real Madrid & Leipzig

In Group F, Real Madrid ranked first with 13 points, Leipzig second with 12 points, Shakhtar third with 6 points, and Celtic fourth with 2 points. Leipzig, along with “defending champion” Real Madrid, has smoothly confirmed its advance to the round of 16.

Group G – Man City & Dortmund

In Group G, Manchester City ranked first with 14 points, Dortmund second with 9 points, Sevilla third with 5 points, and Copenhagen fourth with 3 points. Manchester City proudly rose to the top of the group as a strong candidate for the championship, and Dortmund, led by head coach Terzic, also joined the round of 16 as they settled in second place in the group.

Group H – Benfica & PSG

Finally, in Group H, Benfica and PSG ranked first and second with 14 points, respectively, and Juventus and Macabi Haifa ranked third and fourth with three points.

It was a group that no one expected. PSG gave Benfica the lead in the group and Juventus were eliminated in vain as third place in the group.
